About Us

Hi, we're Neil and Tanya, and together we enjoy long distance walking. In 2014 we plan to walk the length of the British Isles, from Mizen Head in the south of Ireland to Malin Head in the north, then the length of Great Britain from John O'Groats in the north to Land's End in the south, a total of about 1600 miles, in aid of ShelterBox

Wet and wild

The weather's on the turn! After camping in lovely sunshine on Tuesday night, we woke to thick clag. Very atmospheric  plodding up to Priest's Leap in the hill fog! After a steep descent and long plod to Kenmare, we were ready for fish and chips - Caoimhin at Wharton's chippie obliged with some first class battered cod and homemade chips (mayo too!!) We also got a 10 Euro cash donation to Shelterbox from a customer in the chippie who we told our story to, which was really nice!
Staggered off with full bellies towards Killarney following the Kerry Way, but sore feet and deteriorating weather meant we camped early - and spent a long night listening to roaring wind and pouring rain, and admiring the flexibility of our tent poles as they bent right down over our feet. A very wet walk into Killarney this morning, but at least the waterfalls were spectacular!
