Hi, we're Neil and Tanya, and together we enjoy long distance walking. In 2014 we plan to walk the length of the British Isles, from Mizen Head in the south of Ireland to Malin Head in the north, then the length of Great Britain from John O'Groats in the north to Land's End in the south, a total of about 1600 miles, in aid of ShelterBox

Dark Peak (Alternative Pennine Way - Part 2)


Sorry for the delay in posting this -
the second half of the Alternative Pennine Way just went far too fast.

We loved walking through landscapes we've visited before such as Ilkley Moor, Dovestone Tor and Stanage, as well as discovering new places in between. 

It was also really good to visit my (Tanya's) mum in Leeds, and also Claire and John Haycock and their lovely daughters Holly and Sophie near Sheffield. Thanks to all for your hospitality, hope we didn't smell too much!

    The simple pleasures of journeying on foot...tea from a stream and mushy peas galore... Mmmm!
    Neil...I'm half remembering a conversation on some mountainside...about beards.
